PORTSMOUTH DEFENDS NATIONAL TITLE ON HOME GROUND

Portsmouth Tchoukball Club will defend their national title this Sunday (11 Nov 07) at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth.
Teams from around the UK will compete throughout the all day event to win the title of National Champions. For the first time ever, the top two teams from the competition will automatically qualify for the European Winners Cup which will see them matched against the best teams from other European countries including Switzerland and Italy. The European Winners Cup will be played in Ferrara, Italy, in February 2008.
Portsmouth Tchoukball Club boasts a number of ex and current Great Britain squad players, many of whom will be competing on Sunday.
The event comes just two weeks after the Tchoukball Association of Great Britain and Sport Hampshire & IOW launched the New Year New Sport campaign to introduce tchoukball to schools in the area. Teachers in Portsmouth, North East and North West Hants will soon be trained in tchoukball and be delivering the sport in their schools.
